BREAKING: Scooby-Doo Ghostblasters to Close Permanently on January 7th
Zoinks! Time is running out for the Scooby Gang. Six Flags Fiesta Texas has announced that it will close Scooby-Doo Ghostblasters, a 15-year-old attraction on the Boardwalk, on Jan. 7, the final day of Holiday in the Park.
Amerigoround Closed for Season
Sources from the park have confirmed that Amerigoround has begun the move from Rockville back to Spassburg. This is planned downtime as the park will take the remainder of the season to refurbish the ride, transport it to the new location…
Friday the 13th Scavenger Hunt
On Friday, October 13, 2017, Six Flags Fiesta Texas will host a scavenger hunt for the first 500 guests to find 13 particular monsters within the park. Experience Fright Fest in a whole new way while searching for your chance to win a first, second, or third place prize! Don't worry - you'll be able to recognize the monsters!
Fiesta Texas Closed 8/26-27 for Hurricane Harvey
Six Flags Fiesta Texas has announced this evening that the park will remain closed on Sunday, August 27th, 2017 as well due to the ongoing severe weather brought on by Hurricane Harvey. It is important to note that daily summer operation has now concluded and will be closed, as scheduled, this upcoming week. We expect the park to reopen next weekend as scheduled.
NEW FOR 2018: Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster
New for 2018 will be the Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster. The ride will be featured in Rockville at the previous site of Power Surge. Golden Lasso Coaster will be a single-rail coaster constructed by Rocky Mountain Construction. This coaster will be the first of its kind found in the world.
Reid-Anderson Named Chairman, President and CEO at Six Flags
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Six Flags Entertainment Corporation today announced its board of directors has appointed Jim Reid-Anderson, who has been serving as Executive Chairman of the company since February 2016, as the company's new Chairman, President and CEO effective immediately, replacing John M. Duffey who has retired from the company.
BREAKING: Power Surge to Close for Good
Fiesta Texas made an official announcement today that Power Surge will officially close for good this season. Your last chance to ride this attraction will be on July 23rd. It seems as if this attraction had already been on the chopping block the last couple of seasons. The wear and tear Power Surge has endured over its lifetime has become very evident.
Thunder Rapids New Opening Date & Commercial Shoot
Six Flags Fiesta Texas announced today that the official opening of Thunder Rapids will be on Saturday, June 3rd. For those of you who were planning on riding Memorial Day weekend, you may be in luck.
Drop of Doom VR Coming to Scream July 14th
The VR concept is entitled Drop of Doom. In this setting, riders will be put into a simulated world where they participate in a gun battle with giant spiders. Riders will be equipped with the Samsung Gear VR headset, commonly used for virtual reality attractions throughout the Six Flags chain.
Spring/Summer Show Line-Up Announced
Six Flags Fiesta Texas has officially announced their show line-up for the Spring and Summer months. Two of the shows are also scheduled to open during opening weekend on February 25th.
Thunder Rapids POV Animated Video
Six Flags Fiesta Texas has posted a brand new 360-degree video featuring the on-ride experience of Thunder Rapids Water Coaster. You can see that video below. Not much structural construction has taken place since our previous construction update. The ride is slated to open Memorial Day weekend at the end of Spring. White Water Bay, however, will officially open for 2017 on April 29th.
2017 White Water Bay Opening, Mardi Gras Updates
We visited the park this past weekend and no new visible construction has progressed on Thunder Rapids Water Coaster from what we could see. Keep checking back for construction updates as they become available. The ride is currently scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend.
