1999 Expansion

Bucking Broncos was originally installed in Crackaxle Canyon as Rodeo Rider. In 1999, Six Flags Fiesta Texas unveiled a huge expansion to help attract visitors to the theme park. Along with Rodeo Rider, several other children’s attractions were installed in Crackaxle Canyon and other park areas, including Daffy’s Duckaneer, Foghorn Leghorn’s Barnyard Railway and Yosemite Sam’s Wacky Wagons. The Rodeo Rider name was short-lived as the attraction would be renamed Lil’ Bronco Buster in 2002.

The children’s attraction was rethemed to Bucking Broncos in 2023.

Bucking Broncos is located in the park’s Crackaxle Canyon area.

Prior to Bucking Broncos, the ride was known as Buckarooz.

Wiggles World, Moving Back Home

Wiggles World, a new children’s addition in the Spassburg park area, came Six Flags Fiesta Texas in 2009 and 2010. Some new rides, as well as already-standing attractions, were given new paint jobs and names that resembled Wiggles characters and objects. For Wiggles World, Lil’ Bronco Buster was transported to the area from Crackaxle Canyon and renamed the Wiggly Trail Ride. At the end of 2010, Six Flags terminated the licensing for Wiggles World and this area of the park would transform into Kidzopolis. For 2011, with the debut of Kidzopolis, the Wiggly Trail Ride was renamed Buckarooz.

In April of 2023, Buckarooz became Bucking Broncos as the children’s area continues its transformation into Thrill Seeker Park. In September of 2023, Bucking Broncos would make its way back to Crackaxle Canyon, the park area in which it was originally installed in 1999. During this move, the ride would see more paint upgrades and the reinstallation of its original horse topper.
