This edition of The Queue Blog will break down all of the known changes coming to Fright Fest 2018 at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. While we usher in some great new shows and haunts, some other favorites will be leaving to make room. Here's a breakdown:

New for 2018

Three main additions are coming to Fright Fest for the 2018 season. This includes one live show, a haunted house, and a scare zone. It is great to see this many changes coming to the event as it helps keep everything fresh.

House of Bones

The cast features a voodoo master, gypsy queen, and their band that sing spooky songs guaranteed to get you into the Halloween spirit. This brand new show is making its way to Zaragoza Theatre in Los Festivales.

Midnight Museum of the Macabre

Established at the turn of the century, this museum features morbid collections, interesting curiosities, and collections found to be cursed. Guests who enter will discover a past of horrifying exhibits and uncomfortable side shows. This brand new haunted house is located in Spassburg!

Soul Harvest

This BRAND NEW Scare Zone takes over the streets of Texas State Square and Los Festivales for 2018. Beware as this secluded and dilapidated barn setting can turn into a nightmare.

Not Returning in 2018

While it is great to see brand new Fright Fest attractions coming our way, some other attractions will not be returning. One live show, a haunted house, and a scare zone are officially being retired.

Dead Man's Party

Dead Man's Party was a show featured in Zaragoza Theatre during Fright Fest in both the 2016 and 2017 seasons. This production, based around a dinner party, featured ghoulish friends singing classic Halloween-inspired hits. The show's story and song line-up was exactly the same for both 2016 and 2017 seasons so it isn't a huge surprise that this show is being replaced by House of Bones for the 2018 Fright Fest season.

Torture Chamber

Torture Chamber was an interesting haunted house that was actually located in the queue line of Bugs' White Water Rapids in the Spassburg section of the park. This setup had its advantages and disadvantages. The theme was great as the haunted house looked like a huge castle. However, since railings from the queue line could not be removed it made the house predictable. Midnight Museum of the Macabre will be a great upgrade as it will not be happening inside the Bugs' White Water Rapids queue line and will be a more conventionally-designed house.

Chupacabras From Hell

Perhaps the scare zone that is the biggest fan-favorite will not be returning for the 2018 season. Chupacabras From Hell featured human-sized monsters that lingered around Texas State Square in Los Festivales. All good things typically come to an end, however. We are keeping positive that the all-new scare zone, Soul Harvest, will be a great refresh to this area of the park.

Returning in 2018

Most of the great past attractions will be returning for the 2018 season. We expect some of the live shows to be revamped with new content as this is typically what happens during each Fright Fest. Here's a look at what is returning:

Live Shows

  Monster Mash Bash

Monster Mash Bash

Monster Mash Bash This legendary production returns to Lone Star Lil's Amphitheater. The show features singers, dancers, and a full live band and we expect the song line-up to be refreshed from last season.

Rock Apocalypse Another fan favorite, this production will be returning to Sundance Theatre for the 2018 season. A live band and a couple singers typically fill out the show. We also expect Rock Apocalypse to have a fresh line-up of songs.

Monster Boogie This show returns to Teatro Fiesta for the second year in a row and features a cast of singers and dancers. Out of all shows coming to Fright Fest, Monster Boogie may be the production that comes back as the same show with no changes.

The Awakening The Arrival has been renamed The Awakening for the 2018 season. Gather in Crackaxle Canyon as every monster (and then some) from each Scare Zone are released into the park to terrorize guests.

Haunted Houses

Blood Bayou Haunted Trail - Blood Bayou began as a small campground. However, the owners soon stumbled upon a hidden cemetery. It was made apparent that people were not welcome on this land. Hikers and campers began to go missing. During your journey, make sure you don't end up finding your name on a gravestone. This house is located in Crackaxle Canyon.

Buried Alive - Forgotten under the streets of Crackaxle Canyon is an abandoned mine shaft. Make your way underground to soon realize that you are not alone. These catacombs are thriving with the un-dead. Skeleton ghosts, crazy rituals, and maggots are just a few items you are guaranteed to encounter.

CarnEvil 3D - We hope you aren't afraid of clowns. Venture over to Fiesta Bay Boardwalk for a frightening clown experience. This house is filled with clowns of all shapes and sizes. To top it all off, you'll experience all of this with 3D glasses.

RockKill High School - What was once a happy place, Rockville High School has transformed into RockKill High School. Venture the halls of this classic high school and hope that you don't encounter the zombies that lie within the library, classrooms, and gym.

Slaughterhouse 6 - The tables have turned inside this haunted attraction. What once seemed like a normal slaughterhouse has quickly evolved into something of nightmares. Can you escape this house without becoming someone's meal? This house is located in Crackaxle Canyon.

Scare Zones

  Aftermath

Aftermath

Aftermath - Ever wonder what a post-apocalyptic world may look like? This desolate area of land is prime example. Wreckage, strewn body parts, and an eerie feeling fill this Scare Zone nightly. Located in Crackaxle Canyon near the entrance into Spassburg.

Circus Berzerkus - These clowns are no joke. In addition to CarnEvil 3D on Fiesta Bay Boardwalk, the streets of this area are full of frightening clowns, sideshow acts, and creatures you could only find in a freaky circus.

Wicked Hollow - The streets of Spassburg are safe for nobody. Evil witches are abound putting spells on those who enter this area. Hooded and masked figures, as well as gargoyles, also plan to terrify anyone who dares enter. Don't forget about the fire-breathing dragon.

Zombie Apocalypse - Just when you thought all the zombies were isolated inside RockKill High School you find that they have escaped into the streets of Rockville. Beware of the citizens of Rockville during Fright Fest as they plan to feast on human visitors.
